Quantum of Solace

Betrayed by Vesper, the woman he loved, 007 fights the urge to make his latest mission personal. Pursuing his determination to uncover the truth, Bond and M interrogate Mr. White, who reveals that the organization that blackmailed Vesper is far more complex and dangerous than anyone had imagined.

Critics found the film brutal, breathless, and emotionally committed, praising its action and Daniel Craig while viewing its choppy execution as a disappointment after Casino Royale.

• Bond's pursuit of those responsible for an assassination attempt is intertwined with his private thirst for revenge.
• Dominic Greene seeks control of barren Bolivian land through a deal supporting a strongman's coup.
• The opening car chase and other action sequences use fast editing and were specifically noted for their difficult-to-follow construction.
• Daniel Craig's Bond is youthful, angry, and driven by grief rather than the lively formula associated with earlier Bond films.

• Casino RoyaleShares a contemporary espionage framework, revenge-driven protagonist, international conspiracy, and gritty action tone.
• The Bourne UltimatumShares globe-spanning secret-agent missions, geopolitical corruption, kinetic set pieces, and a serious spy-thriller mood.
• Mission: Impossible – FalloutShares British intelligence intrigue, stylish international action, covert power struggles, and morally conflicted espionage.
