Modern Love Mumbai

Explore 6 unique yet universal stories of human connection and love in its varied forms – romantic, platonic, parental, sexual, familial, marital, self-love.

Modern Love Mumbai (2022) is an Indian anthology romance drama miniseries created by Ishita Pritish Nandy and Rangita Pritish Nandy for Prime Video, produced by Pritish Nandy Communications with Amazon Studios. Its six self-contained episodes follow different characters across Mumbai through love in its many shapes, including romantic, platonic, parental, familial, marital and self-love. The cast includes Dilip Prabhavalkar as Nazrul, Tanuja Samarth as Baai, Kashmira Irani as Rehana, Vikram Kochhar as Aakash and Talat Aziz as Shabbir, each anchoring a separate story rather than a single continuing arc. Each episode runs about forty-two minutes and builds its emotional engine from ordinary urban frictions: a misunderstanding, a long-delayed confession, an unexpected bond between strangers. Viewers encounter the city's crowded lanes, apartments and gatherings as backdrops to intimate moments. The tone is warm and sincere, with moments of wistfulness and heartbreak, though the stories vary in strength and some critics found the final connecting thread forced. Adult themes and frank sexual content mark it as a TV-MA production. Fans of Modern Love, Love Actually and Black Mirror's anthology structure will find resonance in its interlocking stories and emotional range.
