Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears (1985-1991) is an American animated fantasy adventure series created for ABC, produced by Walt Disney Television with Tokyo Movie Shinsha, and running six seasons across ninety-five short episodes. Gruffi Gummi (voiced by Bill Scott and later Corey Burton) and Zummi Gummi (Paul Winchell) lead a cheerful band of talking bears, joined by Cubbi, Grammi, Tummi and Sunni, who live in a mystical land of giants, wizards, ogres and dragons. The engine of each episode is simple and bright: the Gummis step in when a scheming villain such as Duke Igthorn (Michael Rye) plots against the innocent, and they use wit, teamwork and a little magic to foil him. Each eleven-minute installment stands mostly alone, a case of the week built around a sweet, playful quest, so viewers can drop in at any point. The look is storybook and gentle, with a warm, comforting tone, plenty of laughter and an earnest belief in doing what is right. Fans of DuckTales, TaleSpin and The Legend of Prince Valiant will find the same kid-friendly fairy tale heart and bright adventure, a nostalgic pick for families and anyone who grew up with Saturday morning cartoons.

Audiences rate the series positively, praising its warm, adventurous fantasy world and cheerful Gummi characters, with ratings holding steady across its six seasons.
