Bella Calamidades (2010) is a Colombian-produced Spanish-language telenovela created by Julio Jiménez for Telemundo, filmed as a single season of 140 episodes running about 45 minutes each. Its heroine Dolores Lola Carrero, played by Danna García, is a ravishing beauty whose romantic and personal life keeps collapsing under a relentless run of bad luck. Segundo Cernadas plays Marcelo Machado, one of the romantic leads drawn into her orbit, while Adriana Campos plays Priscila Cardona, a rival whose schemes complicate the central romance. Tiberio Cruz, Claudia Rocio Mora, Gary Forero, Mimi Morales, Pedro Roda, Daniela Tapia and Santiago Gómez fill out a large ensemble of family members, suitors and co-workers whose overlapping entanglements drive each episode forward. The engine of the series is simple: a woman who wants love and stability keeps getting knocked off course by mistaken identities, misplaced loyalties and absurd coincidences, and each episode turns on the next small disaster. The tone is light and self-aware, leaning on exaggerated emotion and playful irony rather than grit. Fans of Ugly Betty, Yo soy Betty la fea and La Usurpadora will find the same mix of melodrama, romance and comic misfortune, delivered as a classic telenovela with a warm, teasing heart.

Audience reception is mixed, with a modest audience rating for its single season of telenovela romance and comedy.
