Star vs. the Forces of Evil

Intergalactic warrior Star Butterfly arrives on Earth to live with the Diaz family. She continues to battle villains throughout the universe and high school, mainly to protect her extremely powerful wand, an object that still confuses her.

Star vs. the Forces of Evil (2015-2019) is an American animated fantasy comedy created by Daron Nefcy for Disney XD and Disney Channel. Intergalactic princess Star Butterfly (voiced by Eden Sher) arrives on Earth to live with the Diaz family, where she meets Marco Diaz (Adam McArthur), a teenage boy who becomes her closest friend and ally. Her central engine is simple and urgent: she must keep her extremely powerful magic wand out of the hands of villains spread across countless dimensions, while also getting through ordinary high school days. Each episode pairs a colorful monster or villain clash with awkward school and family moments, so the show alternates between slapstick action and teen social comedy. The series runs four seasons and 140 episodes of roughly eleven minutes each, and the stories build into a continuing mythology about the wand. Its tone is bright, whimsical and playful, with a warm emotional core about friendship and belonging. Set in present-day Earth and in a sprawling set of alien worlds, it sits in the tradition of American cartoon fantasy. Fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender, Gravity Falls and Adventure Time will find resonance in its blend of magical adventure, humor and heart.

Audiences broadly rate the series positively for its inventive fantasy world, lively humor and heartfelt friendship between Star and Marco.
