Other Space (2015) is a American web-originated science fiction comedy created by Paul Feig for Yahoo! Screen. The eight-episode single season follows the UMP cruiser, a barely-functional starship captained by an aggressively cheerful leader whose crew is clueless and bickering. Among them are a navigator who is hopelessly out of his depth, a brain-damaged mechanic, a squabbling couple, and a gill-bearing man raised to serve as an organ farm for his brother, along with ART, a billionaire turned robot voiced by Trace Beaulieu. Neil Casey, Eugene Cordero, Joel Hodgson, Conor Leslie, Bess Rous, Karan Soni and Milana Vayntrub round out the principal cast. The engine of the show is a crew that must improvise its way through trouble after its ship is pulled into a different universe, dealing with space clouds, robot rebellions and the occasional alien attack. Each half-hour episode is a brisk, self-contained romp built on physical gags, awkward workplace chemistry and escalating mishaps. The tone is breezy, goofy and warm, a loose homage to cult space comedies, with a cast that makes its odd-ball characters endearing. Fans of Red Dwarf, Futurama and Galaxy Quest will find resonance in its affectionate silliness and ensemble incompetence.

Audience reception is mixed, with viewers enjoying its goofy, low-budget space comedy and its cast's chemistry while finding the uneven gags and modest production limiting.
