Reunited Worlds

Although born in the same year, two childhood friends end up being 13 years apart because they have aged surprisingly at different places (worlds) for some strange reason. Now Eom Hyeon Soo is a 31-year-old woman but Sung Hae Sung is still a 18-year-old boy. Cha Won Yooung is a chef also interested in Eom Hyeon Soo.

Reunited Worlds (2017) is a South Korean k-drama series created by Baek Su-chan for SBS. Yeo Jin-goo plays Sung Hae-Sung, an eighteen-year-old who stays youthful while his childhood friend ages thirteen years ahead of him, and Lee Yeon-hee plays Jung Jung-Won, the woman at the center of their tangled bond. Ahn Jae-hyun plays Cha Min-Joon, a rival suitor whose presence turns old feelings into a love triangle. The engine of the series is the ache of lost time: two people who once shared a childhood must find their way back to each other while lies, competing affections and the gap in their lives keep pulling them apart. Each half-hour episode builds on family secrets, heartfelt confrontations and romantic misunderstandings, and the story unfolds across one continuous season of forty episodes. Set in present-day South Korea, the drama is a supernatural melodrama in the tradition of the k-drama romance, with a wistful, melancholic atmosphere and a steady undercurrent of longing. Fans of Goblin, Hotel del Luna and Stairway to Heaven will find resonance in its blend of fated love and emotional sacrifice.

Audiences rated the single season as mixed, with a modest but solid response to its romantic melodrama and supernatural premise.
