Driven

A resilient girl with a tragic past and a heart of gold falls in love with a bad boy race car driver.

Driven (2018-2022) is an American romance drama series created by Tosca Musk for PassionFlix. Resilient Rylee carries a tragic past and a heart of gold, and her life tilts when she falls for a bad boy race car driver, Colton, played by Casey Deidrick in early episodes and by Michael Roark later on. Aiden, played by Ian Sharkey, sits near the emotional center as another man drawn into her orbit. The engine of the series is a romance pulled between longing and the obstacles of an unstable past, with each episode built around emotional confrontations, reconciliations and the pull of a dangerous attraction. The show spans three seasons and sixteen half-hour episodes, a serialized romance rather than a case-of-the-week format. It is set in a contemporary American world of racing and everyday life, grounded without much period texture. Its register is sincere, melodramatic and sentimental, with a heavy emphasis on desire and heartache. Fans of Dawson's Creek, Gossip Girl and Fifty Shades of Grey will find resonance in its earnest romantic intensity and its focus on a guarded heroine.

Audience reception is mixed, with viewers rating the romance steadily around the middle of the scale across all seasons.
