Bronco The Series

This is the story of José Guadalupe Esparza and his three friends, and how they became one of the most successful regional music bands in México: Bronco. Together, they will fight the music industry establishment, escaping poverty and facing discrimination. After years of great and hard work, they managed to sell out their good-bye show at the Azteca Stadium in 1997, with over 30 million records sold all over the region.

Bronco The Series (2019) is a Mexican biographical music drama miniseries created by Diego Álvarez for TNT Latin America. Following the story of José Guadalupe Esparza (Luis Alberti) and his three friends, the thirteen-episode run traces how they forged themselves into one of México's most successful regional music bands. Fermín Ordoñez (Hernán Mendoza) and Homero Hernández (Luis Felipe Tovar) stand among the bandmates whose friendship is tested as the group pushes against a music industry establishment that resists them, while poverty and discrimination press at every turn. The engine is ambition: years of grinding work to earn a place in a market that does not welcome them. Each episode builds the band's reputation through concrete struggles of performance, negotiation and survival, moving toward a landmark sold-out farewell show at the Azteca Stadium. The mood is warm and nostalgic, with a bittersweet undercurrent of hard-won success and the cost of it. Viewers drawn to Mexican popular music history and working-class underdog stories will find resonance in the vein of Selena and Walk the Line, with the regional-pride energy of a telenovela-style period piece. It is a single-season limited series with a strong musical identity and an emotionally grounded portrait of friendship.

Acclaimed by audiences for its heartfelt portrayal of the rise of a Mexican regional music band and its struggles against industry gatekeepers and poverty.
