Los Serrano

Los Serrano is a Spanish television drama comedy which premiered on 22 April 2003 and aired on Telecinco. It tells the story of the Serrano family, who lives in Round Santa Justa No 133, located in the fictional neighborhood of Santa Justa, in the Ribera del Manzanares, in Madrid. The success of the series in Spain and in several other countries in Europe and elsewhere helped launch the career of several young actors and actresses, especially actor and musician Fran Perea, who acts in the series and sings its theme song, "1 más 1 son 7".

Los Serrano (2003-2008) is a Spanish drama comedy series created by Daniel Écija and Álex Pina for Telecinco. Set in Round Santa Justa No 133, a block of flats in the fictional Santa Justa neighborhood of Madrid, it follows the Serrano family, a blended household of parents, stepchildren and grown children sharing close quarters and constant friction. Diego Serrano (Antonio Resines) and Santiago Serrano (Jesús Bonilla) anchor the household, while Fructuoso Martínez, known as Fiti (Antonio Molero), and Lucía Gómez (Belén Rueda) add neighborly complications. Younger characters such as Raúl Martínez (Alejo Sauras) and Maria Teresa Capdevila (Natalia Sánchez) bring school-age romance and rivalry into the mix. Each episode is built from small domestic crises, money worries, romantic misunderstandings and clashing personalities, all played out across the shared courtyard and kitchens of the building. Over eight seasons and 147 episodes the tone moves between breezy comedy and sincere family melodrama, with a warm, nostalgic affection for Madrid working class life. The series helped launch the careers of several young Spanish actors, most notably musician Fran Perea, whose theme song became a signature. Fans of Modern Family, Cuéntame cómo pasó and Physics or Chemistry will find resonance in its ensemble warmth and gentle romance.

Audiences rate the series positively overall, with its family comedy-drama tone and ensemble cast valued, though the later, weaker seasons are less well regarded.
