Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir

Marinette and Adrien, two Parisian teenagers, are entrusted with powerful jewels in order to transform into superheroes Ladybug and Cat Noir. But neither hero knows the other's true identity — or that they're classmates!

Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir (2015-present) is a French animated superhero series created by Thomas Astruc, Jeremy Zag and Nathanaël Bronn, first broadcast on TF1 and produced with a 3D animation style that gives its bright look a polished, playful finish. Marinette Dupain-Cheng, voiced by Anouck Hautbois, and Adrien Agreste, voiced by Benjamin Bollen, are classmates in present-day Paris who have been entrusted with magical jewels that transform them into the heroes Ladybug and Cat Noir. Neither knows the other is beneath the mask, and the comedy comes from that tension as they keep their double lives hidden from each other and their friends. Each episode follows a new akumatized villain, a character empowered by a corrupting object, whom the duo must defeat and restore, while their school routine, family pressures and crushes play out alongside the battles. The series runs as a serialized, ongoing story across six seasons, with self-contained episodes building into longer arcs about the heroes' growing bond. Its tone is bright, breezy and affectionate, with a mix of superhero action, slapstick comedy and sincere emotion. Fans of Sailor Moon, Teen Titans and Spider-Man: The Animated Series will find a similar blend of transformation, friendship and playful heroics aimed squarely at families and younger viewers.

Viewers broadly find the series a fun, colorful superhero adventure with lovable leads and an emotional core, rated positively by audiences.
